 Script Spotlight - Having Fun with EMUE
Ordering Pizza
Do you spend too much time ordering food?  Is filling out online forms getting you down?  Mike Laukaitis of Community Medical Center in Missoula, Montana, developed an EMUE Web script to alleviate the pain involved in ordering pizza online.  You could even schedule your pizza script to run every day!  Mike's script, pizza.emue logs into Pizza Hut's website and places an order for a pepperoni pizza using a saved account.  You could modify the script to use a different website or place a different order.  To find out how to record your own web script, check out this video or you can find out more about web scripting with EMUE.
 
Let Homer tell you when your scripts finish!
You probably have your scripts configured to e-mail you when they finish, but wouldn't it also be nice to have Homer Simpson notify you upon script completion.  Doug Rosenthal from SUNY Upstate in Syracuse, NY came up with the idea to use RunCommand to play a .wav file when the script finishes.  Imagine playing a clip of Homer saying "Whoo Hoo!" before a successful exit and "D'oh!" before an ExitError.  Now, you'll know when your scripts finish even when you aren't looking! 
 
HomerSounds.emue, which you can download from the script library, has two RunCommand lines.  Each one plays an audio clip of Homer and then closes.  One line should be added before your exit statement so that when EMUE is about to finish successfully, Homer will say "Whoo Hoo!" and the other statement should be placed before your ExitError statements so that Homer says "D'oh!" when the script is about to fail.
